Grow Old with Me... Gaaa!

The question "And doesn't he want to grow old with someone?" asked in this post I answered in this post has been irrefutably decided in this post. QED. I rest my case.

Mr. Butziger,

The reason I'll never grow old with my lady is - that I'm 30 years older than she is.

We have two delightful (or sometimes not) children, ages 6 and 2.

Poor girl, I fear it's wearing her out. She's near 28 and soon I'll have to get another 20-year-old.

With regards
Steve Browne

My dear Mr. Browne,

Thanks for taking the time to share your side of the story. However, you're obviously still on a death premise. You're hoping you'll die before your wife hits the wall.

Plus, aging is not necessarily determined by years alone. There are many cougars around, sixty or older, (think Carly Simon) who are hotter than many twentysomethings. Other chicks' faces are known to have imploded before age thirty. (Think Pamela Anderson.) I suggest you keep your lady off the tanning bed and off cigarettes.

The reason that marriage is immoral is that you're chaining yourself to a person who may very well change for the worse, not only physically, but also spiritually. And the way divorce laws are rigged, once one of you changes enough for her to want to bail, chances are she'll walk away with half your money, your house, and your two delightful children.

Sincerely,

Alex Butziger

Assumptions sir - and we all know what we do when we do that.

You're how old now?

I ask because I think I remember being that person.

But thanks anyway, I think this has motivate me to write that article on my life-extension regimen.

"Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not quite, the not yet, the not at all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours."

Took me a while to dig up that quote — but, hey, my time is valuable. :P
